Message from Football authorities regarding Covid-19 prevention (Coronavirus)

  • Pre and post-match handshakes to be suspended until further notice
  • Measure in place to mitigate the potential spread of the Covid-19 virus (Coronavirus)
  • Advice issued by SFA and SPFL based on Government and health experts

Further to today's joint SFA and SPFL statement regarding the mitigation of the impact of the COV-19 virus (Coronavirus) the club can confirm that we will ask and expect all club players and officials to implement the suspension of the traditional practice of shaking hands with opposition players and officials prior to, and following matches, with immediate effect.

This is in line with the guidelines circulated by the Government and should remain in place until further notice.

Earlier today, Scottish FA chief executive Ian Maxwell said the aim was "to take the necessary measures to safeguard the wellbeing of everyone involved in the national game amid the outbreak"

The club will continue to follow the most up to date advice provided by the Government, health, and footballing authorities and will communicate all further messages to club members as we receive them.
