Lowland League season and player update

  • Lowland League season decided on points per game
  • East Kilbride finish in 2nd position
  • Kelty Hearts declared Champion nomination for play-off
  • Several EK players sign new deals prior to loans
  • Season 21/22 to start on 17th July

Due to the problems cause by COViD, the Lowland League Board have issued this following message which confirms the curtailment of Season 20/21, which has been decided on a points-per-game basis, with Kelty Hearts declared as this Champion team, and being put forward for the Pyramid play-off.

"The Lowland League Board considered responses provided by member clubs.

Nine clubs wrote to say they supported this recommendation. Three clubs expressed a preference for the season to be declared null and void. This constitutes a majority of clubs in favour of the recommendation.

The Board has therefore agreed League positions for season 2020/21 will be decided based on average Points Per Game. The final League table is shown below.

Discussions are ongoing with the Scottish FA, SPFL and SHFL about possible dates for the Pyramid Play-Off competition. All clubs competing in it will, under current Scottish Government requirements, be required to pay for PCR tests.

There are several factors before relegation can be confirmed which includes waiting until the conclusion of the Pyramid and Lower Pyramid Play-Off competitions.

Start date for season 2021/22

The Board has a start date of the weekend of Saturday 17 July 2021."

Due to the curtailment of the Lowland League, several East Kilbride players have been granted short-term loan deals with SPFL club's after penning new K-Park deals, detailed below:

Chris Erskine & Steven Bell (short term loans to Partick Thistle)

Kyle Hutton (short term loan to Cowdenbeath)

Kieran McGrath (short term loan to Peterhead)

Paul Paton (short term loan to Airdrieonians)

Darren Smith (short term loan to Edinburgh City)

Lewis Kidd (short term loan to Albion Rovers)
