Everyone at East Kilbride FC would like to wish a quick and speedy recovery to our very own Dr Sam Millar, who is recovering well after a heart attack earlier in the week.
Sammy or "Doc" as he is fondly referred to at the club is back on his feet and starting his recovery after taking ill on Monday.
A former Radiology Consultant at Hairmyres Hospital (now retired), Sammy has been with the club for 6-years and his expertise in the medical field has seen him become a much-loved and respected figure at K-Park, guiding players, staff and the Physio team greatly over the years. Sam also has strong connections at EK Rugby Club, the EK Sports Club, and can regularly be seen cycling to and from K-Park and across the wider town.
The Doc's presence and experience on match days has also benefited opposition players on occasions when serious injuries have occurred.
The last 18-months has also seen Sammy lead the club's COViD response which has allowed the team to return to training and match competition safely, at a time when he also returned to Hairmyres to assist the NHS COVID fight.
Everyone involved at East Kilbride FC cannot wait to see the Doc back at K-Park and we send our love and thoughts to Sammy and his wife Maureen as he recovers in the coming weeks.
